Thai National Arrested in Taiwan for Heroin Smuggling

According to a report by Khaosod Online citing CTWANT, a 35-year-old Thai national, identified as a Muay Thai instructor, was arrested by Taiwanese authorities at Kaohsiung International Airport. Intelligence gathered by the Kaohsiung Customs and Coast Guard Administration led to the surveillance and subsequent detention of the individual upon her arrival.

Medical examinations, including X-rays, revealed that the woman had ingested 72 capsules containing heroin. These capsules were wrapped in condoms and multiple layers of shrink wrap. Authorities reported that the total weight of the seized narcotics was 289.1 grams, with an estimated street value of 3.6 million New Taiwan Dollars. The suspect remained under medical supervision for 10 days until all capsules were naturally expelled from her body.
