According to Khaosod Online, the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) is collaborating with agricultural central markets to streamline the collection and distribution of these crops as they enter the market in high volumes.
Chanthaphat Panjamanon, Deputy Director-General of the DIT, stated that the primary goal is to prevent market saturation, which often leads to price volatility for farmers. By partnering with modern retail chains and wholesale outlets, the ministry aims to absorb at least 10,000 tons of produce. This initiative is designed to create more efficient supply chains, ensuring that fruits move quickly from production areas to consumers.
