Reserve Senators Call for DSI to Accelerate Senate Election Collusion Probe
A group of reserve senators and election candidates has urged the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to expedite its case regarding alleged collusion in the recent Senate elections.
On August 19, 2026, a group of reserve senators and Senate election candidates, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamrob Panyakaew, gathered at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) headquarters in Bangkok. The group formally requested that the DSI accelerate its investigation into alleged collusion during the Senate selection process and submit the case file to public prosecutors.
According to Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamrob, the DSI had previously concluded a case file involving eight suspects, but prosecutors returned it for further investigation. While Justice Minister Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthapol Naowarat has stated that the DSI must wait for the Election Commission (EC) to complete its own inquiry before proceeding, the group argues that the DSI should conduct its investigation in parallel to avoid unnecessary delays.
