KMUTNB and Bangkok Today Host Seminar on AI-Driven Economic Growth
King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) has launched an initiative to upskill 20 million Thais in AI to bolster the national economy.
On August 18, 2026, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), in collaboration with Bangkok Today, hosted a seminar titled 'AI and Economic Driving.' The event featured a keynote address by Professor Dr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), who emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in shaping Thailand's future.
The primary objective of this initiative is to accelerate the upskilling of 20 million Thai citizens to support the modern digital economy. During the event, the Minister also visited the university’s Center for Innovation and Advanced Technology to assess the readiness of the academic and industrial sectors to integrate AI into their operations. The seminar was attended by university leadership, including KMUTNB President Professor Dr. Thanin Silpcharu, and various ministry officials.
