On August 19, 2026, the Nan Provincial Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported significant flooding in Pua District following heavy rainfall. According to Khaosod Online, the deluge has impacted several sub-districts, including Sathan, Uan, Sila Laeng, Sila Phet, and Woranakorn.
Infrastructure damage includes the collapse of a bridge at the Chao Fai checkpoint, rendering roads impassable for both motorcycles and automobiles. Residential areas have also been affected, with water entering at least five homes in the villages of Thung Khong, Na Lae, Hia, and Hua Doi. While the water level at the Nam Yao bridge in Uan sub-district remains approximately one meter below the embankment, the situation remains fluid.

The Pua District Chief has coordinated with the 31st Development Unit to deploy personnel and boats to the Sila Laeng sub-district municipality to assist with relief efforts.
