A collision between a sedan and a van at a dangerous curve on Doi Inthanon resulted in one injury.
On August 18, 2026, a traffic accident occurred on Highway 1009 at kilometer marker 28, a section known for its dangerous curves leading to Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai. According to Khaosod Online, a van and a sedan collided, causing the van to lose control and overturn on the side of the road.
Jiraniti Choengsa-ard, head of the integrated area conservation zone for Doi Inthanon National Park, reported that local authorities from the Chom Thong Police Station were dispatched to investigate the scene. The incident resulted in one injury: the 37-year-old driver of the van, identified as Narit Banthi, sustained a head injury. Both vehicles involved in the collision sustained damage.
