Krabi Province Revokes 112 Local Government Appointments
Krabi officials have announced the termination of 112 local government employees following a review of recruitment procedures.
On August 18, 2026, Saroj Chaimat, the Krabi Provincial Local Administration official, announced that 112 individuals will be removed from their positions as local government officials. This decision follows a review by the Krabi Provincial Tambon Administrative Organization Committee and the Krabi Provincial Municipality Committee, aimed at aligning local hiring practices with the guidelines set by the Central Committee for Local Government Personnel (KST) under the Department of Local Administration.
The review was prompted by investigations into irregularities regarding competitive examinations for local government appointments. Specifically, the Krabi Provincial Tambon Administrative Organization Committee revoked a previous resolution from May 25, 2026, which had authorized 95 positions. Following the update to the KST’s recruitment list, 72 individuals were removed, leaving 23 confirmed appointments. A similar adjustment process was applied to municipal positions, resulting in a total of 40 municipal staff being removed.
For residents and visitors, this administrative shift highlights ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to ensure transparency and procedural integrity within local government recruitment. While these changes primarily affect the internal staffing of local administrative bodies, they reflect a broader commitment to regulatory compliance.
