A 39-year-old man has been found deceased in a pond in Nakhon Ratchasima following a two-day search by local authorities and residents.
On August 18, 2026, local authorities in the Chorakhe Hin sub-district of Khon Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, discovered the body of a 39-year-old man in a local pond. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the man had been reported missing since the night of August 16, when he was last seen leaving his motorcycle and shoes in the middle of the village.
Following his disappearance, a search party consisting of family members, local residents, and rescue teams from Hook 31 Nakhon Ratchasima utilized drones and ground patrols to locate him. The search efforts were prompted by concerns regarding the man's history of alcohol-induced hallucinations, which had previously caused him to flee in fear of perceived threats. Preliminary examinations by officials at the scene revealed no signs of physical assault or foul play.
This incident is particularly distressing for the local community, as it marks the fourth drowning death reported among the man's family and extended relatives.
