Authorities Seize 20,000 Bottles of Counterfeit Allergy Medication in Bangkok
Bangkok police intercepted a large shipment of fake allergy syrup intended for distribution in Southern Thailand, where it is reportedly used in illicit drug mixtures.
On August 18, 2026, officers from the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Pathum Wan Police Station conducted a raid at a distribution center in the Rong Mueang area of Bangkok. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the operation led to the seizure of 103 boxes containing approximately 20,000 bottles of a counterfeit allergy syrup labeled 'ALLERGIN SYRUB'.
Authorities discovered the illicit products inside a closed-body pickup truck at the site. Preliminary investigations suggest that the shipment was intended for transport to Southern Thailand, where such medications are frequently misused as ingredients in '4x100', a local illicit drug cocktail.
