Khon Kaen Municipality Clarifies Tax Status of Wat Pa Adulyaram
Khon Kaen officials have confirmed that Wat Pa Adulyaram is exempt from land taxes due to its religious use.
According to a report by Thai Post on August 18, 2026, the Khon Kaen Municipality has officially clarified the tax status of Wat Pa Adulyaram. Prasit Thongtaengthai, the Mayor of Khon Kaen, stated that the land in question, identified by title deed number 61945 and covering approximately 21 rai, 3 ngan, and 61 square wah, is exempt from local land taxes.
Records indicate that the land has been under the ownership of Mr. Hiang Phimsri since 1990. However, because the property is utilized exclusively for Buddhist religious purposes by Wat Pa Adulyaram, it does not fall under the category of taxable land.
For residents and visitors, this clarification provides transparency regarding the status of local religious sites and their land usage. It confirms that the temple’s operations are recognized as serving a public religious function, which exempts the property from municipal tax obligations. While this statement resolves the current tax status of the specific plot, it remains to be seen if any future changes in land usage or ownership documentation might alter this classification.
