Tragic Accident in Nakhon Pathom as Coconut Tree Collapses During Storm
A 74-year-old woman died after being struck by a falling coconut tree during heavy winds in Sam Phran district.
On August 18, 2026, a fatal accident occurred in Sam Phran district, Nakhon Pathom province, during a period of heavy rain and strong winds. According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 74-year-old woman, identified as Ms. So, was killed while walking through her orchid garden to collect bitter melon.
Local police from Sam Phran Station, led by Police Lieutenant Rangsiman Senakham, responded to the scene following reports of the incident. Authorities discovered that a 20-meter-tall coconut tree, estimated to be 60 years old, had snapped. A five-meter section of the tree’s crown fell onto the victim, resulting in fatal head injuries. The victim was found deceased at the site of the garden.
