Hua Hin Municipality Conducts 'Run-Hide-Fight' Safety Drills in Schools
Hua Hin officials have launched a safety training program for students to respond to active intruder scenarios, with plans to expand the initiative across local educational facilities.
On August 18, 2026, officials from Hua Hin Municipality, including Mayor Nopporn Wuttikul, observed a safety drill at Khao Phithak Municipal School in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The exercise, reported by Khaosod Online Thailand, focused on the 'Run-Hide-Fight' protocol designed to prepare students and staff for potential emergency situations involving intruders.
The simulation involved a scenario where an armed individual entered the school grounds. Students practiced securing themselves in classrooms and executing coordinated responses to neutralize the threat before police arrived to secure the scene. According to municipal leadership, this drill serves as a proactive measure to enhance school safety.
For residents and visitors, this initiative highlights the local government's focus on emergency preparedness within public institutions. While the drill was limited to Khao Phithak Municipal School, officials have announced intentions to expand this training program to a total of six schools and two child development centers under the municipality's jurisdiction.
It remains to be confirmed when the training will be implemented at the remaining facilities and whether similar protocols will be adopted by private educational institutions in the area. The municipality views this as a vital step in establishing a standardized safety framework for the community's youth.
