Thailand’s Department of Climate Change and Environment Marks Third Anniversary
The Department of Climate Change and Environment has launched a new Climate Change Information Center (CCIC) as part of its strategy to reach Net Zero by 2050.
On August 18, 2026, the Thai Department of Climate Change and Environment celebrated its third anniversary. During the event, Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, officially inaugurated the Climate Change Information Center (CCIC). This facility utilizes big data to support the nation’s transition toward its goal of achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Dr. Raweewan outlined four key policy pillars aimed at addressing global climate challenges. These include aligning national efforts with the government’s Net Zero target, advancing the Climate Change Act for Cabinet review to improve business competitiveness, and establishing robust early warning systems for climate-related disasters to protect lives and property.
