Investigation into Wat Pa Adulyaram’s Official Status
A 62-year-old woman has formally requested documentation from the National Office of Buddhism to verify the legal registration of a temple in Khon Kaen.
On August 18, 2026, Ms. Chommanee Noichan, known as 'Pa Da,' visited the National Office of Buddhism in Nakhon Pathom to seek official records regarding the establishment of Wat Pa Adulyaram in Khon Kaen province. According to Khaosod Online, the 62-year-old initiated this inquiry after failing to locate the temple in the national registry, raising questions about whether the site was established in accordance with the Sangha Act and official Buddhist office regulations.
Mr. Teeradech Jantarat, Director of the Office of the Director at the National Office of Buddhism, received the formal request on behalf of the agency. Pa Da stated that her objective is to review key documents, including the original application for temple establishment and relevant petitions, to verify the site's legal status. She emphasized that her actions are intended to uncover the truth rather than to reclaim land.
For residents and visitors, this situation highlights the importance of verifying the official status of religious sites in Thailand. While the temple is a point of local interest, its formal recognition remains subject to the findings of the National Office of Buddhism.
