Online Dating Fraud Allegations Involving Former Teacher Surface
A local government official has accused a woman formerly employed as a teacher of financial deception following a brief online relationship.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 18, 2026, a local government official known as 'Khun Tae' has sought assistance from the Saimai Must Survive organization regarding an alleged financial scam. The official claims he was defrauded of over 500,000 baht by a woman identified as 'Kru Nam' after they met on a dating application on June 14, 2026.
Khun Tae alleges that the woman, who claimed to be a teacher, requested funds for tuition and dowry payments shortly after they began dating in July. He reports transferring approximately 300,000 baht for a dowry and an additional 200,000 baht for other expenses. During a broadcast on the 'Hone-Krasae' program, the woman clarified that she is no longer a teacher and has transitioned to selling motorcycles. She stated that the photographs of her in a teacher's uniform displayed in her home were intended solely as personal inspiration and were not used to deceive others.
