Hotel Security Incident Reported in Hat Yai
A 34-year-old woman reported a trespassing incident at a Hat Yai hotel, where a neighboring guest attempted to force entry into her room.
According to a report from Khaosod Online Thailand on August 18, 2026, a 34-year-old woman staying alone at a hotel in Hat Yai experienced a distressing security breach. The woman stated that between the night of August 16 and the early hours of August 17, a male guest from an adjacent room attempted to enter her accommodation.
The woman reported that the man successfully unlocked the door, but was stopped by the internal security chain. She alleged that the man then reached his hand through the gap to attempt to unlatch the chain. The victim contacted hotel staff, who reportedly arrived to observe the situation but did not take further action. The woman noted that this was allegedly not the first time the individual had engaged in such behavior.
Following the incident, the woman filed a formal complaint with the Kho Hong Police Station in Hat Yai. Police Colonel Apichat Wannako, Superintendent of the Kho Hong Police, has directed investigators to collect evidence, including CCTV footage, to proceed with the case.
