Thailand Prepares for 20th Asian Games in Japan

With exactly one month remaining until the 20th Asian Games, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has announced that the Thai national team is fully prepared for the competition. The event is scheduled to take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the SAT, reported that all financial obligations regarding allowances for athletes and coaches have been successfully fulfilled, ensuring no outstanding issues remain. As the host nation enters the final month of preparations, Japan is readying facilities to welcome over 15,000 athletes from across the continent.

For travelers and residents, this update highlights the logistical scale of the upcoming games. Notably, the host organizers have announced an unconventional accommodation plan, with approximately 4,000 to 5,000 athletes expected to be housed on ships, utilizing 571 available cabins.
