Driver Arrested for Methamphetamine Possession on Phet Kasem Road
A 39-year-old man was arrested by Highway Police for drug possession and driving under the influence after being caught consuming methamphetamine on the roadside.
On August 18, 2026, Highway Police officers arrested a 39-year-old man, identified as Mr. Arun, on Phet Kasem Road (KM 461+700) in Tha Sae, Chumphon province. According to a report by Khaosod Online, officers discovered the suspect parked on the roadside while consuming methamphetamine.
Upon inspection, authorities seized 52 methamphetamine pills from the suspect’s pickup truck. Mr. Arun faces multiple charges, including illegal possession of a Category 1 narcotic, consumption of a Category 1 narcotic, and driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. During the arrest, the suspect reportedly admitted to using the drug to stay awake while driving, citing fatigue, and pleaded with officers for leniency due to his young child.
