Suvarnabhumi Airport to Expand Auto Gate Access to 31 Additional Nationalities
Thailand’s primary international gateway is set to increase the number of nationalities eligible for automated passport control by the end of August to reduce passenger congestion.
According to a report by Khaosod English, Suvarnabhumi Airport is preparing to expand its automated passport control system, known as Auto Gates, to include travelers from 31 additional nationalities. This initiative is scheduled for implementation by the end of August 2026.
The expansion is part of a broader government effort to alleviate passenger congestion at Thailand’s busiest international hub. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Ministry of Transport.
