Authorities Seize 205kg of Crystal Meth in Songkhla

On August 17, 2026, Songkhla Governor Ratsat Chitchu announced the arrest of four suspects involved in a transnational drug trafficking network. According to Khaosod Online, the operation resulted in the seizure of 205 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, estimated to be worth approximately 43 million baht.

Authorities, including the Tawan Hat Yai unit, Region 9 Narcotics Suppression Division, and Songkhla provincial police, intercepted the shipment after tracking it from Bangkok. The drugs had been transported via a private courier service before being transferred to vehicles intended for delivery to the southern border, with the ultimate goal of export to neighboring countries. Three vehicles were confiscated during the operation at the Thung Lung Police Station area.
