Police Arrest Man with Loaded Firearm in Sai Mai
Authorities in Bangkok's Sai Mai district apprehended a 59-year-old man found in possession of an unregistered revolver and ammunition during a routine patrol.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, police officers from the Sai Mai station conducted an arrest in the early hours of August 17, 2026. During a routine patrol near the end of Soi Sai Mai 39, officers stopped a 59-year-old man, identified as Mr. Kiat, who was operating a motorcycle in a manner that drew suspicion.
Upon conducting a search, officers discovered a homemade .32 caliber revolver in his possession. The firearm was loaded with five rounds, and an additional nine rounds of .32 caliber ammunition were recovered, totaling 14 rounds. Mr. Kiat reportedly claimed that he carried the weapon for self-defense purposes.
