Chulalongkorn University Launches Wellness Real Estate Course

The Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University has introduced a new program focused on wellness real estate to address the growing longevity economy.

The Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University has officially launched a specialized course titled 'Wellness Real Estate,' aimed at equipping property developers with the skills to navigate the 'Longevity Economy.' According to Prachachat Business, the program focuses on architectural designs that foster long-living societies, specifically targeting the middle-market segment.

Professor Trairut Jaru-tatsana, a faculty member at the university, highlighted that the curriculum is designed to help developers adapt to global trends where aging populations are becoming a primary demographic. By integrating wellness principles into residential design, the course seeks to create living environments that support health and longevity.

For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this initiative signals a potential shift in the local property market. As developers adopt these standards, future housing projects may increasingly feature designs tailored to long-term health and accessibility, which could influence the quality and availability of senior-friendly living spaces.

Applications for the course are currently open until October 30, 2026. While the program aims to influence the real estate sector, it remains to be seen how quickly these design principles will be implemented in commercial developments and what impact they will have on housing costs for the general public.
