Sakon Nakhon Unveils 10-Year Water Management Strategy

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit has introduced a strategic 10-year water management plan for Sakon Nakhon province, spanning from 2027 to 2037. The initiative comprises 295 individual projects aimed at addressing the province's current irrigation limitations.

While Sakon Nakhon encompasses over 3 million rai of agricultural land, only 20% of this area is currently covered by irrigation systems. The proposed strategy seeks to add more than 280,000 rai of irrigated land, effectively increasing the total coverage to 30%. The plan also emphasizes enhancing water storage capacity to better manage seasonal water fluctuations.
