Thailand Sees Surge in Registered Business Capital for July 2026
New business registrations in Thailand saw a significant capital increase in July 2026, driven largely by a major capital injection from Banpu.
According to data released by the Department of Business Development (DBD), Thailand recorded 7,512 new business registrations in July 2026. While the total number of new entities decreased by 5.85% compared to June 2026 and 2.57% compared to July 2025, the total registered capital surged to 53.647 billion baht. This represents a substantial increase of 143.65% compared to the same period last year.
Director-General Poonpong Naiyanapakorn noted that this sharp rise in capital was primarily influenced by a 40.5 billion baht capital increase by Banpu. Beyond this major corporate move, the DBD highlighted that sectors such as online businesses, restaurants, and clothing retail continue to demonstrate strong growth trends.
For residents and visitors, this data suggests a resilient commercial landscape in specific consumer-facing sectors, indicating that despite a slight dip in the volume of new company formations, the scale of investment remains robust. Whether this trend of high-capital investment will continue into the final quarter of the year remains to be confirmed, as does the long-term impact of these specific sector growth patterns on the broader Thai economy. The DBD continues to monitor these registration figures to track ongoing economic shifts.
