On August 9, 2026, a four-year-old boy was severely injured after being attacked by a dog in the Romyen Village, located in the Hua Thale sub-district of Nakhon Ratchasima. According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the child was playing with siblings when the animal approached and lunged at his head and left forehead. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where medical staff performed surgery requiring more than 30 stitches to close the wounds.
The dog's owner reportedly provided 500 baht and some snacks to the family, citing a lack of financial resources. The child’s grandfather stated that the boy now exhibits signs of trauma and fear when encountering dogs. The family has expressed significant concern regarding public safety, as the animal involved in the incident reportedly continues to roam freely within the community.
