SCB Launches Digital Gold Marketplace on SCB EASY App

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has officially launched 'SCB Gold Marketplace,' a digital service integrated into its SCB EASY mobile application. This platform facilitates the trading of 96.5% and 99.99% purity gold by partnering with three major Thai gold retailers: Hua Seng Heng, MTS Gold, and YLG.

Key features of the service include a minimum investment threshold of 0.05 units, extended trading hours until 3:00 AM, and the option to conduct transactions via e-FCD dollar accounts. Users also have the choice to request physical delivery of their gold holdings. SCB CEO Saratch Rattanaporn stated that this initiative aims to position the bank as a comprehensive wealth platform, providing its 17 million customers with seamless access to investment opportunities.

For residents and investors, this development simplifies gold acquisition by consolidating multiple providers into a single digital interface. Representatives from the partner gold shops have suggested that gold remains a viable long-term investment, though they advise investors to accumulate assets gradually to manage market volatility. While the platform is now operational, potential users should note that specific terms regarding physical gold redemption processes and any associated service fees for international currency accounts remain subject to the bank's detailed operational guidelines.
