M82 Motorway Section Set to Open Following Safety Certification
The Department of Highways has confirmed that the M82 elevated motorway section between Bang Khun Thian and Ban Phaeo has passed structural integrity tests and is scheduled to open on August 28, 2026.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Department of Highways (DOH) has officially confirmed the safety of the M82 elevated motorway, which connects Bang Khun Thian, Ekkachai, and Ban Phaeo. Following a collaborative structural assessment conducted with the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT), the project has met all required safety and quality standards.
Director-General of the Department of Highways, Piyapong Jiwattanakulpaisarn, announced that the final evaluation took place on August 15, 2026. Based on these results, the department has cleared the route for public use, with an official opening date set for August 28, 2026.
