Education Minister Addresses Appeals Following Mass Transfer of School District Directors
Minister Prasert Chantararuangthong has opened an appeals process for 40 school district directors affected by a recent mass transfer order.
On August 16, 2026, Thailand’s Minister of Education, Prasert Chantararuangthong, addressed public criticism regarding the recent reassignment of 40 directors of Educational Service Area Offices (ESAO). The transfers were initiated following an order signed by the Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) on July 27, 2026.
In response to concerns that the process lacked fairness, Minister Prasert announced that the affected officials are permitted to file formal appeals if they believe the transfer orders were unjust.
