Narathiwat Court Sentences Official in Connection to MP Shooting Case

According to a report by Khaosod Online, the Narathiwat Provincial Court has issued a verdict regarding the misuse of a vehicle belonging to the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC). The defendant was found guilty of dismantling an official ISOC vehicle to destroy evidence linked to the March 2026 shooting of Prachachat Party MP Kamonsak Leewamoh in Narathiwat’s Bacho District.

The court sentenced the defendant to 10 years in prison, which was reduced to five years without suspension due to a confession. The defendant is also required to pay damages to ISOC. Investigations into the shooting have identified seven suspects, including five alleged perpetrators—identified as former rangers and marines—and two suspected masterminds, one of whom is an ISOC officer accused of providing the official vehicle used in the attack.
