Tata Steel Thailand Commits to Electric Arc Furnace Technology

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Tata Steel (Thailand) has officially declared its long-term commitment to utilizing Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology for its steel production. Anurag Pandey, Managing Director of the company, stated that while other methods like Induction Furnace (IF) technology remain in use across various markets, the company is prioritizing EAF to align with global industry trends.

This strategic move is intended to improve production consistency, enhance quality control, and reduce carbon emissions. Pandey emphasized that the decision is driven by the need for higher safety and reliability standards, particularly for steel used in buildings and critical infrastructure. The company is currently investing in EAF technology across its operations in India and Europe as part of this broader commitment.
