Spanning only 1.8 kilometers, the public beach has historically struggled with massive crowds, with records showing as many as 200,000 people present at the same time. This density has led to reports from visitors on platforms like TripAdvisor, who noted that the crowds were so thick that reaching the water was nearly impossible.

To address these safety and management concerns, Shenzhen authorities have implemented a strict daily capacity limit of 80,000 visitors during the peak season, which runs from May to October. Travelers planning to visit during these months are now required to book their entry in advance through an official system to secure their spot.
