Classic Car Repair Dispute Resolved Between Influencer and Customer
A dispute involving a classic American car repair project has been settled after intervention by a third-party mediator.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 16, 2026, a conflict regarding a classic American car repair project has reached a resolution. The issue began when a customer sought assistance from a mediator known as 'Yai V10' after paying 280,000 baht toward a 500,000-baht repair contract. The customer reported that after more than a year, the vehicle remained unfinished and its location was unclear.
The car, originally blue and lacking an engine, was brought to a well-known automotive influencer’s garage on June 17, 2024, for extensive work, including a color change to mangosteen purple, engine and electrical system installation, and glass replacement. Following a tense confrontation at the garage, the influencer confirmed the vehicle was safely stored on-site. The parties have now reached an agreement where the garage will return the engine and compensate the customer for the price difference.
For residents and car enthusiasts in Thailand, this case highlights the importance of formalizing repair timelines and maintaining clear communication when dealing with high-value automotive restoration projects. While this specific dispute is resolved, the final status of the vehicle's restoration remains to be confirmed, as the agreement focuses on the return of parts and financial settlement rather than the completion of the original project.
