Thailand Women’s Volleyball Team Targets Asian Championship Title

As the Thailand women’s national volleyball team prepares for the 2026 Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship in Tianjin, China, scheduled for August 21–30, team captain and setter Pornpun Guedpard has outlined a strategic shift in mindset. According to Khaosod Online, the defending champions are placed in Group B alongside Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Australia.

While the tournament serves as a critical pathway for 2028 Olympic qualification and the World Championship, Pornpun stated that she is choosing to manage pressure by focusing on winning the championship title rather than the Olympic ticket itself. She noted that by setting the goal of reaching the finals and winning the trophy, the team can mitigate the stress associated with Olympic qualification cycles.
