Deputy PM Promotes Community Coconut Packing Centers in Samut Sakhon

On August 15, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Suthamphan visited the Ban Phaeo Agricultural Cooperative in Samut Sakhon province to assess the progress of the 'Community Aromatic Coconut Packing Center' initiative. According to Khaosod Online, 12 such centers have already been established to help streamline the supply chain and increase the value of local produce.

During the visit, officials noted that the initiative has contributed to an improvement in farm-gate prices, which have reached 10 baht per coconut. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that long-standing issues in the sector require integrated efforts from all relevant government agencies to elevate product quality and support value-added processing. Local representatives, including the provincial governor and members of parliament, participated in the discussions to address the specific needs of farmers and entrepreneurs.
