Deputy Prime Minister Yoschanan Wongsawat has introduced the 'Thailand Brain Initiative,' tasking OKMD with developing a national framework to enhance cognitive potential across all age groups.
On August 15, 2026, Yoschanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, announced the launch of the 'Thailand Brain Initiative.' Speaking at the 'Brain Longevity Bootcamp 2026,' Wongsawat outlined a vision to utilize brain science as a foundation for unlocking the potential of Thai citizens, ranging from children and the workforce to the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
The initiative operates under the theme 'Every Mind, Full Potential.' The Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD) has been appointed to lead the project, coordinating a network of universities, researchers, medical professionals, engineers, and private sector experts. The goal is to establish a national framework that fosters expertise in brain science, aiming to transition Thailand toward a 'New Growth Engine' where the economy is driven by intelligence rather than traditional cost-based competition.
