According to a report by Thai Post on August 15, 2026, the abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram has sought round-the-clock police security after an unsettling encounter at the temple. Security camera footage captured an unidentified man arriving at the temple grounds via a tuk-tuk during the time monks were out for their morning alms collection.
The individual reportedly gained access to the abbot’s living quarters (kuti) and claimed to be a newspaper editor and the president of a journalist association. The unexpected arrival and the man's claims have caused significant concern for the abbot, prompting the formal request for police intervention to ensure the safety of the temple premises.
For residents and visitors, this incident highlights a rare security concern within a religious site.
