Truck Driver Dies in Tragic Warehouse Accident in Si Racha
A 59-year-old truck driver was killed in Chonburi province after attempting to stop his rolling vehicle at a warehouse.
On the night of August 14, 2026, a fatal accident occurred at a warehouse in the Surasak sub-district of Si Racha, Chonburi. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, police from the Nong Kham station were notified at 11:30 p.m. that a truck driver had been crushed by his own vehicle.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver, identified as 59-year-old Mr. Pongsak from Ayutthaya, had parked his white Hino trailer truck to unload goods. For reasons currently under investigation, the vehicle began to roll down a slope. The driver attempted to manually stop the truck from the front but was unable to hold it back. The vehicle struck him before crashing into and damaging the warehouse wall.
Emergency responders from the Pure Yeang Tai Si Racha rescue unit arrived at the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead. His body was transported to Laem Chabang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of strict vehicle safety protocols, particularly when parking heavy machinery on inclines. While the immediate cause appears to be a mechanical or operational failure leading to the vehicle rolling, local police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
