Fatal Electrocution Incident Following Police Pursuit in Ratchaburi
A suspect fleeing police in Ratchaburi died after coming into contact with a live wire trap he had reportedly set, which also injured his four-year-old child.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a high-stakes police pursuit occurred on the evening of August 14, 2026, in the Photharam district of Ratchaburi province. A motorcycle patrol officer attempted to stop a male suspect observed carrying a long firearm. The suspect fled, leading police on a chase that ended at a private residence, where the individual abandoned his vehicle and escaped into a wooded area.
Later that night, at approximately 10:50 PM, police were alerted to an incident involving electrocution in a banana grove behind the same property. Authorities discovered that the suspect had died from electric shock after reportedly setting up a live wire trap intended to deter pursuers. A four-year-old child accompanying the suspect was also injured by the trap. Police investigations revealed that the deceased had outstanding warrants related to firearm offenses and the tampering of an electronic monitoring (EM) device.
