Liverpool FC Announces Strategic Minority Stake Sale to 1892 Holdings

Liverpool FC has confirmed a deal to sell approximately one-third of its shares to 1892 Holdings, a consortium including Jeff Bezos and Eduardo Saverin.

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Liverpool FC has officially announced that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has reached a final agreement to sell a minority stake in the club to 1892 Holdings. The deal, which values the club between £5 billion and £6 billion, involves the transfer of approximately one-third of the club's shares.

The investment group features prominent figures, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, alongside British-Indian businessman Amit Bhatia. Under the terms of the agreement, Bhatia is set to join the club as vice-chairman and will serve on an expanded board of directors.

For residents and travelers in Thailand who follow international football, this development marks a significant shift in the club's ownership structure. While the financial valuation is substantial, the club has clarified that this transaction will not impact its current player transfer strategy.

Several details remain to be confirmed, as the transaction is currently awaiting approval from relevant regulatory authorities. Until these regulatory hurdles are cleared, the full integration of the new board members and the finalization of the partnership remain subject to official oversight.
