Tragic Incident in Kalasin: Son Arrested Following Fatal Attack on Mother
A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody in Kalasin province after allegedly killing his 70-year-old mother in their backyard garden.
On August 14, 2026, local authorities in Sahatsakhan District, Kalasin, responded to a violent incident at a residence in Non Laem Thong. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, police arrived at the scene to find a 70-year-old woman deceased in her garden with severe neck wounds caused by a bladed weapon.
Police arrested the victim’s 25-year-old son, identified as Chanon, at the scene. Officers recovered a 60-centimeter-long machete, which is believed to be the weapon used in the attack. Preliminary investigations indicate that the mother and son lived together at the property.
For residents and visitors, this incident highlights a localized tragedy within a private residence.
