According to Khaosod Online Thailand, a 16-year-old student has been identified as the individual responsible for sending a threatening message in a group chat for a prominent school in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district. The message, which warned of a shooting at 8:00 a.m. the following day, caused significant alarm among parents, students, and school staff.
In response to the threat, the school transitioned to online learning for one day on August 14, 2026, to ensure the safety of the campus community. Police Colonel Paitoon Promkhian, Superintendent of Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan Police Station, confirmed that officers, including specialized investigation teams and local authorities, were deployed to the school grounds to maintain order and security throughout the day.
