Fatal Collision on Highway 120 in Lampang
A trailer truck collision on Highway 120 in Lampang province resulted in the death of a local business owner.
On August 14, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred on Highway 120, connecting Wang Nuea and Wiang Pa Pao, near the Chao Pho Suea shrine in Lampang province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, Wang Nuea police were notified of the incident at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Reports indicate that a trailer truck, traveling from Chiang Rai toward Chae Hom district, lost control. The driver reportedly attempted to steer the vehicle to avoid going off the road, causing the truck to block the lane. The trailer portion of the vehicle subsequently swung around and struck an oncoming white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, causing it to flip and land upside down off the road. The pickup truck was pinned beneath the trailer.
Emergency responders, including medical teams from Wang Nuea Hospital and local rescue units, arrived at the scene. They utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extract the driver of the pickup truck, identified as 52-year-old Mr. Thoranin, a local gas station owner, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
