Prime Minister Anutin to Visit Australia and New Zealand to Boost Economic Ties

According to Khaosod Online, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will conduct official visits to Australia from August 17–20 and New Zealand from August 20–22, 2026. This trip marks the first official visit by a Thai Prime Minister to Australia in 14 years, occurring ahead of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 2027.

Government spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek stated that the primary objective of the mission is to expand market access for Thai goods and attract foreign investment, particularly in the technology sector. During his visit to Australia, Prime Minister Anutin is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to advance the Thailand-Australia Strategic Partnership. Key areas of discussion include trade, clean energy, science, and innovation, as well as the implementation of the 2026–2029 Joint Plan of Action.

For residents and travelers, these diplomatic efforts aim to foster closer economic and security cooperation.
