Police Issue Summonses in Wat Pa Adulyaram Access Dispute
Khon Kaen police have issued five summonses following an incident where vehicles blocked the entrance to Wat Pa Adulyaram.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 14, 2026, Khon Kaen police have initiated legal action regarding an incident at Wat Pa Adulyaram. Police Colonel Yotsawat Kaewsuebthannit, Superintendent of Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station, confirmed that five summonses have been issued: one for an individual identified as 'Pa Da' and four for the owners of vehicles involved in blocking the temple entrance.
Evidence from CCTV footage and witness statements identified four vehicles at the scene: two vans, one cement mixer, and one pickup truck carrying construction materials. The driver of the cement mixer claimed they were instructed by a shop manager to pour concrete to 'facilitate traffic,' while investigators are currently tracing the connection to the person who ordered the materials. The summons for Pa Da, who was confirmed to be present at the scene, was sent to her registered address in Bangkok, though she has yet to respond.
For residents and visitors, this incident highlights an ongoing dispute involving the temple, which has reportedly been the subject of three prior complaints regarding alleged illicit activities. While police are treating the trespassing case as separate from the underlying land ownership dispute, the situation remains sensitive. It is yet to be confirmed how the individuals involved will respond to the summonses or how the land ownership conflict will be resolved.
