Popular Thai Automotive Influencer Accused of Fraud in Classic Car Repair Dispute
A car owner has filed a complaint against a prominent automotive influencer after paying 280,000 THB for repairs that remain incomplete after more than a year.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, a classic car owner is seeking assistance after a dispute with a well-known automotive influencer, known for having over 800,000 social media followers. The owner alleges that they entrusted their American classic car to the influencer for repairs in June 2025, with a total estimated cost of 500,000 THB.
To date, the owner has paid 280,000 THB; however, after more than a year, the work remains largely unfinished. The owner claims that the influencer provided only partial progress, such as basic body painting, and allegedly used photos from other workshops to mislead the client regarding the status of the project. Furthermore, the owner reports that the current location of the vehicle is unknown.
Mr. Chatchawan Kaylin, known as 'Yai V10' of V10 Garage in Pathum Thani, brought the case to public attention after being contacted by the distressed owner. For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this incident highlights the importance of verifying the credentials and physical workshop facilities of service providers before committing significant funds to long-term automotive restoration projects. As of now, the influencer has not publicly addressed these specific allegations, and the exact whereabouts of the vehicle remain to be confirmed by the relevant authorities.
