Authorities in Phatthalung conducted drug screenings at the Thale Noi Police Station after an officer was allegedly seen using narcotics during a virtual training session.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a police officer attached to the Thale Noi Police Station in Phatthalung province was allegedly observed using illegal drugs while participating in a virtual training session on August 10, 2026. The training, organized by the Provincial Police Region 9, involved 259 officers attending via Zoom.
Following reports from other participants who witnessed the incident, the Phatthalung Provincial Police Commander, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chaowalit Liangsuphong, ordered an immediate investigation. The officer in question has reportedly been missing for three days, and authorities have initiated a severe disciplinary process that could lead to his dismissal.
In response to the incident, officials from the Phatthalung Provincial Police, the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (Region 9), and local health authorities conducted mandatory urine drug screenings for all personnel at the Thale Noi Police Station. Initial results from these tests reportedly showed no presence of narcotics among the remaining staff.
