Three French Tourists Rescued After Going Missing at Sea off Koh Samui
A search and rescue operation successfully located three French tourists who went missing while jet skiing near Koh Samui, following an overnight search.
On August 13, 2026, a group of five French tourists visited Chaweng Beach in Koh Samui, where three members of the party rented jet skis from a local operator, 'Jet and Jump.' According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the three individuals went missing at sea around 5:30 PM.
In response, Koh Samui District Chief Amorn Chumchuay coordinated an emergency search and rescue center, mobilizing local officials, security personnel, and the Wat Plai Laem rescue foundation. After an overnight search operation, the three tourists were discovered drifting approximately seven nautical miles from Koh Madlang.
All three individuals were found safe but suffering from exhaustion. They were promptly transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
