Khon Kaen Temple Seeks Official Land Title Transfer
The abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram has presented an original land deed to authorities in an effort to officially transfer ownership of a 21-rai plot to the temple.
On August 14, 2026, the abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram, Phra Khru Adulsarnnithet, visited the Khon Kaen Provincial Land Office accompanied by representatives from the Lawyers for Buddhism Foundation and the provincial Office of Buddhism. The delegation presented the original land deed, document number 61945, covering over 21 rai, to initiate the formal transfer of the property into the temple's name.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the provincial land officer, Phongsuwat Chaitonteuak, verified the authenticity of the document. While the deed is confirmed as genuine, the current registered owner remains listed as Mr. Hiang Phimsri. The land office has begun the necessary administrative procedures to facilitate the transfer of ownership under the Civil and Commercial Code. The abbot noted that there have been no direct discussions with the opposing party regarding the matter.
For residents and visitors, this development highlights the ongoing administrative complexities regarding land ownership and temple property in Thailand. While the temple has taken a significant step by presenting the original deed, the legal transfer process is still underway.
