BEM Reports Record Q2 2026 Profits and Orange Line Progress
Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM) achieved a record-breaking net profit of 1.012 billion baht in Q2 2026, while confirming the arrival of the first Orange Line train sets by late November 2026.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM) has announced its strongest second-quarter financial performance in a decade. For Q2 2026, the company recorded a net profit of 1.012 billion baht, an increase of 19 million baht compared to the same period last year. Total service revenue reached 3.982 billion baht, with over 50% of this income derived from expressway tolls, which currently serve more than one million vehicles daily.
For residents and commuters, this financial stability supports the ongoing expansion of Bangkok’s rail network. Dr. Sombat Kitjalaksana, Managing Director of BEM, confirmed that the first train sets for the upcoming Orange Line are scheduled to arrive in Thailand by the end of November 2026. The company aims to initiate trial runs by the end of next year, with the goal of integrating Orange Line passengers into the existing Blue Line network.
While the financial results reflect a robust period for the operator, the exact timeline for the full public opening of the Orange Line remains subject to the successful completion of the testing phase. Travelers should look forward to further updates regarding the trial schedule as the arrival of the new rolling stock approaches in late 2026.
