Chao Phraya Express Boat services will be modified on August 17, 2026, due to a rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, Chao Phraya Express Boat, Chao Phraya Tourist Boat, and Supatra Boat have announced a schedule adjustment for Monday, August 17, 2026. Starting from 12:00 PM, boat services will be affected as the Marine Department has prohibited all vessels from navigating the section of the river between Krung Thon (Sang Hi) Bridge and Memorial (Phra Phuttha Yodfa) Bridge.
This restriction is in place to facilitate a rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession. Passengers planning to travel along the river during this time are advised to plan their journeys carefully and allow for extra travel time. Services operating between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM on August 17 will continue to run as scheduled, including the orange flag boat routes.
For those planning travel later in the month, the operators have indicated that they will issue further announcements regarding service schedules for August 20 and August 27, 2026, as additional rehearsals are expected. Residents and tourists who rely on river transport for commuting or sightseeing should monitor official updates from the boat operators to avoid potential disruptions.
